FreeCAD is a free parametric 3D CAD program for mechanical design, product design and engineering. It has part and assembly design, technical drawings (TechDraw), FEM, CAM and BIM workbenches, and imports and exports STEP, IGES, STL, DXF and more. Version 1.0 arrived in November 2024 with a built-in assembly workbench.
